12 Days Uganda Gorilla Trekking and Tanzania Safari

Day 1: Arrival in Tanzania

On arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport, you will be picked up by your driver and transferred to your hotel in Arusha town. Your guide will meet you and give a brief on your upcoming safari.

Day 2: Flight to Seronera Airstrip and Afternoon Game Drive

After breakfast at the lodge, you will be transferred to Arusha Airport to catch your onward small aircraft flight to Seronera Airstrip in Central Serengeti arriving in time for check-in, lunch and later an afternoon Game Drive in the plains home to predators and other animals all year around. After the Game drive, you will return to the lodge for Dinner and Overnight.

Day 3: Full Day Game Drive in the Serengeti Plains

Today is without question one of the highlights of your safari. After a rich breakfast you will start your adventure a little earlier than usual and head out for a full day game drive that will help you experience the Serengeti in its full glory!
Serengeti is undoubtedly the best-known wildlife sanctuary in the world, unequalled for its natural beauty and scientific value. You will have game drive in the endless plains of the Serengeti with a chance to see the great herds of wildebeest, zebras and gazelles or a pride of lions lounging in the shade. You also have many chances to see predators chasing their pray and enjoy their kill. Dinner and overnight at the lodge

Day 4: Morning Hot Air Balloon Safari and Another Game Drive in Serengeti

Today you will wake up early at 6:00am and you will be transferred to Balloon Safari Starting point from where you will a Start to fly with it to explore the beauty of Serengeti National Park and view the wild animal up to 7:30 am. You will then take a bush breakfast until 9:30 am and continue with your full day game drive with your guide until lunch time where you will enjoy your picnic lunch. You will continue with the game drive returning to the lodge in the evening for dinner and overnight.

Day 5: Game Drive in Serengeti and Afternoon to Transfer to Ngorongoro Conservation Area

Today after breakfast, you will head out for a morning game drive from where you will transfer to Ngorongoro Conservation Area arriving in time for lunch and later dinner and overnight.

Day 6: Game Drive in the Crater

After a very quick breakfast, you will make an early descent at around 6:30 AM into the crater floor for a game drive. This area is compared to Garden of Eden on earth. The big numbers of wildlife can be spotted in a day including all big five, the elephant, black rhino, buffalo, lion, leopard, cheetahs, and lots of hyenas, hippos, zebra and wildebeest being the most abundant. You will take a break for lunch and in the afternoon, you will continue game viewing in the south corner of the park where you visit Lake Magadi a place you can see flamingos, hippos and other water birds. Return for dinner and overnight.

Day 7: Transfer to Lake Manyara National Park and Game Drive in The Park

After breakfast, you will transfer to Lake Manyara National Park arriving in time for a game drive. The park is truly a photographer’s playground and offers some of the best game viewing in the world. You can expect to see many of Africa’s most well-known animals with the tree-climbing lions a particular treat. These proud predators lounge in acacia trees practically begging to be photographed. After the game drive, you will pass through the market town of Mto Wa Mbu along the way back to the lodge. This agricultural and fresh produce market is a melting pot of local cultures and a souvenir hunter’s paradise.

Day 8: Flight to Kigali International Airport

Depending on your flight schedule you will wake up lazily, enjoy your breakfast and thereafter transfer to Kilimanjaro International Airport for your outbound flight to Kigali International Airport in Rwanda. On arrival you will be met by your driver guide who will transfer you to your hotel in Kigali City for overnight.

Day 9: Transfer by Road to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

Today you will wake up to your breakfast and then embark on a 4 Hours road drive transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park in Uganda arriving in time for check in to your lodge and later lunch. You may take an evening walk around the nearby community and the dinner and overnight

Day 10: First Gorilla Trekking Experience

After an early breakfast, you will be transferred to the Ruhija Sector park headquarters arriving in time for the gorilla trekking briefing. The briefing point is few minutes away from the Lodge. After the gorilla briefing session which usually starts at 8:00 am, you will be assigned the gorilla group that you will be trekking with other trekkers and you will be escorted into the impenetrable jungle with two gun-baring rangers and a tracker with a machete to lead your way.

Once you have found the gorillas, you will be allowed to spend 1 hour with them and you are advised to keep your camera in silence and observe a 10 meters’ distance from the gorillas with your mask on at all times. The time of your stay in the jungle cannot be pre-determined as every day is different from that previous. Return to the lodge for lunch, relaxation and later dinner and overnight.

Day 11: Second Gorilla Trekking Experience

Today you will have a second chance to spend another one hour with the gorillas in another family different from the previous one or in Buhoma sector depending on your fitness which will give you additional opportunity for photography and experience. Later return to the lodge for lunch and spend the rest of the evening relaxing (you may choose to have a massage at the spa) and later dinner and overnight.

Day 12: Transfer by Road to Kigali International Airport

After a very early breakfast and depending on the schedule of your flight, you will lazily transfer to Kigali International Airport to catch your international flight back home.
