7 Days Luxury Gorilla Habituation & Chimpanzee Tracking

Day 1: Arrival in Entebbe & Luxury Stay

Upon arrival at Entebbe International Airport, you’ll be greeted by your private safari guide and transferred to a luxury hotel: Hotel Number 5 / Best Western Premier Garden Hotel in Entebbe or Latitude 0 Degrees / Lake Victoria Serena Golf & Spa / Sheraton Hotel Kampala. Spend the rest of the day unwinding at your hotel or enjoying a guided tour of Entebbe’s botanical gardens or the Uganda Wildlife Education Centre.

Enjoy a fine dining experience by Lake Victoria before your adventure begins.

Day 2: Flight to Kisoro & Transfer to Nkuringo Bwindi Gorilla Lodge

After breakfast, board a 1.5-hour flight from Entebbe to Kisoro Airstrip. Upon arrival, a private transfer will take you through lush forests to Nkuringo Bwindi Gorilla Lodge.

Relax in your luxurious surroundings, enjoy a rejuvenating spa treatment, or take a guided nature walk around the property. As the evening sets in, savor a gourmet dinner while soaking in breathtaking views of the Bwindi rainforest.

Day 3: Exclusive Gorilla Habituation Experience

After an early breakfast, transfer to the Rushaga sector headquarters for a briefing from expert rangers. Unlike regular gorilla trekking, the Gorilla Habituation Experience allows you up to four hours with a semi-habituated gorilla family.

Guided by expert researchers and trackers, you will witness gorillas in their natural habitat, learning about their behavior and conservation efforts. After the trek, return to your lodge for a well-earned lunch and an afternoon of relaxation.

Optional activities include a spa treatment, a village cultural experience with the Batwa people, or a guided nature walk around Bwindi’s pristine jungle.

Day 4: Leisure & Scenic Transfer to Kibale National Park

Wake up to the sounds of the forest and enjoy a leisurely breakfast before embarking on a scenic drive or flight to Kibale National Park (Chimpundu Lodge).

This 6-7 hour drive takes you through Queen Elizabeth National Park’s Ishasha sector, offering a chance to spot tree-climbing lions. Alternatively, a 1.5-hour domestic flight from Kisoro to Kasese Airstrip, followed by a 2-hour drive to Chimpundu Lodge in Kibale.

Arrive at Chimpundu Lodge, an elegant luxury retreat near Kibale Forest. Spend the rest of the day unwinding by the pool, enjoying a massage, or simply soaking in the natural surroundings.

Day 5: Chimpanzee Tracking in Kibale National Park

After an early breakfast, transfer to the Kanyanchu Visitor Center for a briefing before your Chimpanzee Tracking Experience begins.

Led by expert rangers, trek into the rainforest to track one of the largest populations of wild chimpanzees in Africa. You will spend one hour observing these intelligent primates as they interact, play, and forage.

Return to the lodge for a gourmet lunch and spend the afternoon relaxing. You may choose to take a Bigodi Wetland Sanctuary guided walk, known for its diverse birdlife and primates.

Dinner is served at the lodge, with a selection of fine wines to accompany your meal.

Day 6: Luxury Relaxation & Nature Walks

Spend the day indulging in luxury and nature activities at Chimpundu Lodge. Enjoy a slow morning with a private yoga session, a forest meditation walk, or a coffee-tasting experience with local farmers.

For adventure seekers, take an optional full-day Chimpanzee Habituation Experience, allowing you to spend extended time with researchers observing chimpanzee behavior.

In the evening, enjoy a private candlelit dinner in a serene jungle setting. 

Day 7: Scenic Flight Back to Entebbe & Departure

After breakfast, transfer to Kasese Airstrip for your 1.5-hour flight back to Entebbe International Airport.

If time permits, enjoy a guided city tour or a visit to the Entebbe Craft Market before your departure.
