Baker’s Lodge is perched on the south bank of the Nile, where the sounds of hippos splashing can be heard from your spacious room. The Nile winds its way through Murchison Falls National Park, covering an impressive 120km as it travels from Lake Victoria to the Mediterranean Sea.

The lodge is ideally located for exhilarating boat safaris and thrilling game drives, making it a favored starting point for discovering the wonders of Murchison Falls.

The lodge features 10 expansive Safari Suites that beautifully blend canvas, wood, and thatch. Each spacious cottage features a deck that offers stunning views of the Nile. Every room is situated near the banks of the Nile, where visitors frequently catch glimpses of the lodge’s esteemed hippo residents lounging in the shallows.

Each cottage boasts en-suite bathrooms equipped with solar-heated showers, and a few even offer bathtubs that overlook the Nile. Solar lighting adds an exciting touch that makes this lodge ideal for guests who care about the planet.

Exciting experiences at Baker’s Lodge

Exploring the savannah grasslands and riverine woodland of the Buligi Peninsula offers thrilling encounters with majestic lions, towering elephants, formidable buffalo, graceful giraffes, and the agile Ugandan kob antelope. Leopards are becoming more frequently spotted; the only absence is the rhinos, but there are plans to bring them back from the Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary.

Murchison’s standout experience is the exhilarating boat cruise upriver to the falls. Ideal for an afternoon experience, as the setting sun casts a golden glow on the mist, this journey can take around 3 hours to complete. Alternatively, your driver-guide can greet you at the falls and take you on a scenic journey back to Baker’s by road.

In the wooded south of the park, the Budongo Forest Reserve beckons to bird enthusiasts and offers an exhilarating experience for those tracking chimpanzees.
