Canal boat cruise via Kazinga canal Located in western Kasese, Rukungiri, Kamwenge and Rubirizi districts, Queen Elizabeth national park is the second biggest and among top national parks one might visit in Uganda. Connecting Lake Edward and Lake George, Kazinga canal is a 32 km long canal.

These two sessions span the morning session, which runs from roughly 9 am to 11:00am and the afternoon session, which runs from roughly 2:00pm to 5:00pm and each session takes two to three hours’s drive. Although it can be done all year long, the best time is during the dry season in the months of June, July, August, September, December, January and February since many animals will gather around the channel to drink water which helps you to view abundant animals and take beautiful pictures.
Getting to Queen Elizabeth National Park
Accessing Queen Elizabeth National Park in western Uganda by air, you will schedule or charter flights with Bar aviation Uganda or Aerolink from Entebbe international airport or Kajjansi airfield to Kasese or Mweya airstrip and subsequently connect to Kazinga channel.
Road travel allows you to visit Queen Elizabeth National Park from Kampala via Mubende Fort Portal or Masaka Mbarara, approximately 7 to 8 hours’ driving in a 4 WD safari vehicle.
From Kibale forest national park, Queen Elizabeth national park is also easily reachable by safari vehicle in two to three hours’ journey.
