10 Days Kenya Uganda Safari Itinerary
Day 1: Arrival
You will be picked up from Jomo Kenyatta international airport and your guide will welcome you for the Kenya safari. You will be driven to the hotel in Nairobi for check in and depending on your time of arrival in Nairobi you will engage in a city tour.
Day 2: Drive to Masai Mara reserve
After having breakfast at the hotel in Nairobi and your guide will drive you to Masai Mara reserve which takes about 5 hours. You will have a stop in Narok town before continuing to the lodge in Masai Mara. You will have lunch before heading out for an evening game drive in Masai Mara reserve in search of different wildlife species like lions, leopards, cheetahs, giraffes, elephants, antelopes, buffalos, zebras, wildebeests among others and you will have dinner and overnight stay at the lodge.
Day 3: Hot air balloon safari and game drive
You will start your day early and your guide will drive you to the briefing point where you will have the hot air balloon safari in Masai Mara reserve. You will start the balloon safari and enjoy an aerial view of the reserve and wildlife species in the savannah plains.
After the balloon safari, you will enjoy a bush breakfast and later your guide will take you on a game drive in Masai Mara reserve during which you will search for lions, leopards, zebras, wildebeests, antelopes, giraffes, impalas, hyenas among others. Your guide will drive you back to the lodge after the game drive and you will have dinner and spend the night.
Day 4: Flight to Entebbe
Your breakfast will be served at the lodge in Masai Mara and you will go to the airstrip for your flight to Entebbe international airport. You will be picked up from Entebbe airport and driven to the hotel for check in and you will have dinner and overnight stay.
Day 5: Drive to Kibale national park
Your guide will drive you to Kibale national park after breakfast at the hotel in Entebbe. You will enjoy a drive to western Uganda for about 5 hours and you will have lunch at the lodge in Kibale national park. After lunch you will have a chance to visit Fort Portal and explore the tourism city of Uganda and visit the crater lakes and later drive to the lodge for dinner and overnight stay.
Day 6: Chimpanzee trekking and Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park
After having breakfast at the lodge in Kibale national park, you will have a briefing at the Kanyachu park headquarters and proceed into Kibale forest for a briefing on the chimpanzee trekking experience. You will enjoy seeing the chimpanzees up in the trees in Kibale forest and also encounter some of them on the ground and after 1 hour spent with the chimpanzees, you will transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park arriving in time for dinner and to overnight.
Day 7: Full day in Queen Elizabeth National Park (Morning Game drive and afternoon boat cruise)
Today you will go for an early morning game drive where you will be able spot different animals including elephants, buffaloes and lions among others. You will return for lunch in the afternoon and thereafter head out for a boat cruise on Kazinga channel.
Day 8: Transfer to Bwindi impenetrable forest national park
After breakfast you will be transferred to Bwindi forest National park arriving in time for check in at your Lodge.
Renowned as home to half of world’s mountains gorillas, Bwindi is famous gorilla tracking destination. derived from the Rukiga word, “Bwindi” means a dark place, Bwindi rainforest has remained untouched since the last ice age 250, 000 million years ago. Dinner and overnight.
Day 9: Gorilla trekking
After starting the day with breakfast early at the lodge, you will have a briefing on gorilla trekking and what to expect during the encounter with the gorillas of Bwindi. You will be divided into groups and with your ranger guides you will begin the search for the gorillas which you will encounter in their natural habitat after exploring the impenetrable forest and spending 1 hour with them.
You will return to the Bwindi park headquarters after the gorilla trek and continue to your lodge for dinner and overnight stay.
Day 10: Drive to Entebbe
After breakfast, your guide will drive you to Entebbe where you will be dropped off at the airport late in the evening marking the end of your tour.
