The Nshongi Gorilla Family
The Nshongi gorilla family resides in the enchanting Rushaga sector of Bwindi Impenetrable National Park.
The family takes its name from the Nshongi River, the very place where rangers first encountered them.
The Nshongi gorilla family initially boasted 35 members during the habituation period, but this number later dwindled to 25 when Mishaya departed with 10 members to establish his own group.
The group divided once more, with Bweza venturing out to establish his own family, while the powerful silverback now reigning is Nshongi.
Rushegura Gorilla Family
The Rushegura gorilla family is led by the formidable Kabukojo silverback.
The group came together after parting ways with the Habinyanja gorilla family following the death of the powerful silverback Mugurusi.
This group offers an exciting experience in Bwindi, often spotted near the park headquarters, Batwa villages, and Buhoma camp.
Nkuringo Gorilla Clan
The Nkuringo gorilla family resides in the Nkuringo sector of Bwindi National Park.

The Oruzogo Gorilla Family

This family can be explored in the Ruhija region of Bwindi, where Tibirikwata, the silverback, reigns supreme.
The family is currently made up of 23 individuals.

The group originally consisted of 27 members until Kahungye ventured off to establish his own family, and they are currently guided by the silverback Gwigi.
