Fees for Kibale National Park
The fees charged to visitors who wish to participate in park activities and take in the wildlife are known as Kibale National Park fees. Residents are classified as either Ugandan nationals or foreigners who have been in the country for more than a year. The Uganda Wildlife Authority’s 2022-2024 park admission tariffs state that, similar to all other protected places in Uganda and throughout Africa, different status categories of tourists are entitled to varied park fees. It should be noted that the inhabitants are either foreigners or East African citizens living in East Africa.
One of Uganda’s largest national parks, Kibale National Park is regarded as Africa’s most biodiverse protected region. The Uganda Wildlife Authority, the government agency in charge of all Ugandan protected areas, has also placed Kibale National Park in the top category. With more than 13 species of Hominidae animals, including chimpanzees, monkeys, baboons, mangabeys, and bush babies, among others, Kibale National Park is essential for primate safaris in Uganda.
Fees for park entry
The costs for Kibale National Park vary and are broken down into various classes. First, adults who live outside are eligible to USD 30 for park admission to Kibale National Park, whereas East African citizens are entitled to UGX 20,000. The admission cost to Kibale National Park is USD 10 for foreign residents and UGX 5000 for East African citizens.
An alternative is to purchase an annual park admission permit to Kibale National Park, which would allow you to pay for park entrance once and for all throughout the year. The annual park admission price for a foreign resident of Kibale National Park is USD 350. The annual park admission fee for Kibale National Park, however, is UGX 150,000 for African citizens.
A couple of international residents can enter Kibale National Park for USD 500 per year, whereas a couple of East African citizens can enter for UGX 200,000. However, a family of foreigners with four children must pay an annual park admission price of USD 700 for Kibale National Park and UGX 300,000 for locals who are East Africans.
For international inhabitants, a corporate pass to Kibale National Park costs USD 1500 per year, while East African citizens must pay USD 2.5 million. The yearly park admission fee for Kibale National Park is UGX 100,000 for a safari guide and a taxi driver. An annual park admission charge of USD 50 (UGX 125,000 for East African natives) is due to a tour operator who is a foreign resident of Kibale National Park.
It should be noted that park admission costs do not include lodging or activity fees. Only foreign residents and citizens of East Africa are eligible for the annual park access permit. Additionally, in order to confirm your status, you must show a valid one-year work visa for foreign nationals and a valid national identification card for East African nationals.
Additional park costs
To enjoy your safari in the African bush of Kibale National Park, you must pay additional park fees in addition to the entrance cost. For instance, a foreign resident would pay USD 30 per day to rent a UWA Game Drive vehicle, whereas East African locals would pay UGX 30,000. Other fees associated with Kibale National Park include activity fees, like as chimpanzee trekking permits, which cost USD 100 for visitors from other countries and UGX 100,000 for East African nationals. The cost of a one-day chimpanzee habituation experience at Kibale National Park, however, is USD 200 for foreign residents and UGX 150,000 for East African nationals.
