8 Days Uganda Primates Detailed itinerary
Day 1: Pick up and transfer to Kibale national park
Your guide will pick you up from Entebbe international airport and welcome you for the safari in Uganda. You will have a short briefing and start the journey to Kibale national park in western Uganda for about 5 to 6 hours.
You will have lunch enroute and also have a tour in Fort Portal where you will visit the crater lakes. Your guide will drive you to the lodge in Kibale national park for check in and prepare for your dinner and overnight stay.
Day 2: Chimpanzee trekking and transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park
After having breakfast at the lodge, you will start the day with an early breakfast before going for a briefing at the Kanyanchu headquarters. You will be assigned ranger guides and groups for the chimpanzee trek in Kibale national park. During your search for the chimpanzees of Kibale, you will encounter other primates in the forest including colobus monkeys, vervet monkeys, red tailed monkeys as well as a variety of bird species.
You will return to the park headquarters after the chimpanzee trek and your guide will drive you to Queen Elizabeth national park where you will engage in an evening game drive in search of wildlife species like elephants, buffalos, hippos, lions, leopards, antelopes among others and you will be driven to the lodge for dinner and overnight stay.
Day 3: Game drive and Kazinga Boat Cruise
You will have early morning breakfast at the lodge and you will engage in a morning game drive around the Kasenyi plains in Queen Elizabeth national park where you will search for wildlife species such as lions, buffalos, elephants, waterbucks, hartebeests, impalas, hippos among others. You will have a lunch break after lunch.
After lunch, you will engage in an afternoon boat ride on the Kazinga channel for about 2 to 3 hours and you will enjoy views of Queen Elizabeth national park, the fishing villages and wildlife species by the shores including schools of hippos, elephants, Nile crocodiles, buffalos among others. After the boat ride, your guide will drive you to the lodge for dinner and overnight stay.
Day 4: Transfer to Bwindi national park
After having breakfast at the lodge in Queen Elizabeth national park, your guide will drive you to Bwindi national park via the ishasha sector which is home to the tree climbing lions. You will spot wildlife species around ishasha during a game drive and proceed to the lodge in Bwindi park where you will gave dinner and spend the night.
Day 5: Gorilla trekking
Your breakfast will be served at the lodge ahead of the gorilla trek in Bwindi national park which will start with a briefing at the park headquarters. You will be assigned ranger guides and allocated groups for the gorilla trek in Bwindi forest.
During the gorilla trek, you will follow different trails through Bwindi forest and when you find the gorillas, you will spend 1 hour with the gorillas and later return to the briefing point to receive your certificates. After the gorilla trek, you will return to the lodge for dinner and overnight stay.
Day 6: Drive to Mgahinga national park
After having breakfast at the lodge in Bwindi national park, your guide will drive you to Mgahinga national park where you will engage in a community tour to interact with the locals, get to know their way of life.
You will spend the night at the lodge in Mgahinga national park after the community tour.
Day 7: Golden Monkey tracking
Your breakfast will be served at the lodge and you will proceed to the park headquarters for a briefing on golden monkey tracking. You will proceed into the habitat of the golden monkeys with your ranger guides and explore the forested areas for the golden monkeys which you will spend 1 hour with and enjoy taking photos and videos.
After the golden monkey trekking, you will return to the lodge for your dinner and overnight stay.
Day 8: Transfer to Entebbe and Departure.
After having breakfast at the lodge, you will embark on your journey from Mgahinga national park to Entebbe for about 9 hours with enroute lunch and your guide will drop you off at Entebbe international airport which will bring the 8 Days Uganda Primates tour to an end.

On this 8 Days Uganda Primates tour, all visitors to Uganda must have a valid passport with at least 4 consecutive blanks pages. 220 Volts/AC50Hz. Sockets are UK style, 3 pin square plugs. Power is from the UMEME in the city/major towns and generator with inverter back up in the Safari Lodges and Camps.
CURRENCY:
Foreign currency must be changed at the Bank, Bureau de Change, and Hotel/Safari lodge/Camp/Resort. Major Credit Cards, Master card, Visa, American Express, are usually accepted throughout the country. Where credit cards are accepted, the payment will normally be recorded in US$ regardless of the card’s default currency.
CLOTHING:
Dress is mainly informal and should be comfortable as well as practical. Something warm should be brought along for early morning and evenings. Safari clothes are available from hotels/lodges/camps.
BAGGAGE:
Where possible, travel light. Baggage space on safari is limited to medium suitcase or soft bag per person plus reasonable amount of hand luggage. There is 15 Kilogram per person limit on all flights to the wildlife sanctuaries. Excess luggage must be stored in your arrival hotel.
WATER:
You will find many different of opinion of what is safe and what is not. We recommend for peace of mind, to drink local Bottled Mineral water. It is important to drink plenty of water especially during the hotter months. We would recommend that guests drink at least 2 to 3 liters of water per day to limit the effects of dehydration.
HEALTH;
East Africa is a safe and secure destination; however, it is a good idea to take a few precautions. Kindly consult your GP or local doctor at least 6 weeks before you travel, with regards:
Malaria prophylactics. East Africa is a known malaria area and preventive measures are essential. You are advised to take one of the recommended anti-malarial drugs. Be sure to wear long sleeved shorts and trousers after sunset and spray the exposed parts of your body with a mosquito repellent spray
Remember to protect yourself from direct sun rays with sunscreen cream or safari hat.
